Teachers’ wages to grow further in September, says official
Budapest, January 6 (MTI) – Teachers’ wages will continue to increase in September, by 3.4 percent, resulting in monthly 3,000-15,000 forints (EUR 9.5-48) extra payment, the state secretary for public education said on Wednesday.
In 2013, the government launched the largest wage increase scheme since the 1990 and by 2017, wages will be raised by an average 50 percent, Judit Bertalan Czunyi told a press conference.
State secretary for higher education Laszlo Palkovics said that wages are also increasing in higher education. From January 1 this year, lecturers and researchers are getting 15 percent more and their salaries will rise by an additional 5 percent in both 2017 and 2018.
