Szeretlek Magyarország reported that the local authorities had to interfere on the borders of Hungary and Romania. At the border of Kiszombor-Nagycsanád reportedly twelve people with Romanian citizenship tried to enter the county with Italian cars. Their papers stated that they arrived from Torino, but when they were told that they would be transferred to quarantine for fourteen days, they rewrote the Italian city to a German one.
The travellers disobeyed the warning, and only the police could calm them down. The same happened at the border of Csanádpalota-Nagylak.
At the village of Nadab, a group of Romanians closed themselves into a building established as quarantine, and the authorities are unable to save a person whose coronavirus test was positive and is in the building. Several portals reported that Romanian citizens try to play out the rules. Some of them took a ship to Greece from Italy and through Bulgaria, they decided to get back to their home country. All of them stated that they arrived from Greece and not Italy.
All Romanian citizens arriving from Italy has to stay in quarantine for fourteen days. The Romanian government warned them not to come home and stay where they are to avoid further infections.
The hardship for Romania is that approximately 1.2 million Romanians live and work in Italy, thousands of them in the area where the coronavirus broke out in the country. As many Romanian citizens come back through Hungary, many Hungarians are worried about getting infected at gas stations and motels.
By Tuesday, twenty-nine Romanian citizens were infected by the coronavirus, and twelve more cases were reported that day.
