Change language:
Real estate prices in the Hungarian capital were skyrocketing before causing that living in Budapest was more expensive than doing so in Vienna. However, coronavirus and the approaching economic crisis stopped and even already reversed that trend.
Portfolio.hu collected those flats in Budapest that are somehow special currently in the real estate market because of their price, location, the number of rooms etc. They chose those from the 24 thousand flats included in the Budapest real estate report.Â
- Hungarian real estate market turned upside down! – Hotel rooms offered for long-term rentals
- Hungary listed among the top global real estate markets in 2020
- Coronavirus – The pandemic has reached the Hungarian real estate market
From the 24 thousand flats, there are 7,000 that are still purchasable; all the others have already been sold. The average cost per square meter of these is 946 thousand HUF (EUR 2,674). The most expensive district of Budapest is still the 5th while the cheapest is Soroksár (23rd district). Meanwhile,
the average cost per square meter exceeds the 1 million HUF (EUR 2,700) threshold only in 6 districts.
Among the real estate developers, building flats that are 50-60 square metres big and contain 2-3 rooms are the most popular because these can be sold the easiest in the market. Of course, there are exceptions, and Portfolio.hu collected these.
