Holiday in Hungary? Some hotels open with huge discounts – check out here which ones

Planning to rest after the difficult days of the epidemic? The hotels of Lőrinc Mészáros, a government-close Hungarian businessman whose fortune grew unbelievably quick in the last few years, are going to open with huge discounts and very generous offers on May 15.

The Hunguest Hotels of Szeged and Mátraháza are going to open this week, and they await visitors with outstanding offers. Furthermore, the crew will have to pass an exam of the so-called COVID-codex – mfor.hu reported.

The hotels were closed for two months, but they can reopen one after the other after May 15. The Hunguest Hotels Ltd decided on March 22 that they would provisionally close all their hotels because of the coronavirus epidemic. However, thanks to the government’s decision, from May 4 on,

restrictions implemented to slow down the spread of the virus have been abolished outside Budapest and Pest county

so even hotels can reopen.

On its website, Hunguest says that the closure in March marked the start of the most challenging period in the 20-year history of the company. Like others, they did not see the future either. They could only hope that they will be able to reopen by summer, so they do not have to throw the season into the bin. Therefore, they decided to bring forward some renovation projects which will start soon. But the situation is getting better and

the fight against the invisible enemy seems to be successful

– they concluded.

As a result, the first step will be to reopen the Hunguest Hotel Forrás in Szeged and the Lifestyle Hotel Mátra in Mátraháza. They will have excellent offers, for example, in the ‘pay 3 get 5’ offer a night will cost less than 10 thousand HUF (30 EUR). Rooms in other hotels will be bookable from May 29 on. The company has 26 hotels in Hungary and abroad of which seven will be renewed so those will not open for years. Those are

By summer, hotels in Nyíregyháza, Gyula, Egerszalók and Lillafüred can open, as well. To satisfy all needs and, at the same time, provide a virus-safe environment they accepted a so-called COVID codex and

all their crew members have to pass the exam related to it.

The company did not tell yet how much they lost because of the two months long closure, but they already announced that they will dismiss 50 pc of their employees, which means 800-850 people.
