Strand Festival’s line-up for 2020 – Ellie Goulding, Parov Stelar, Sum41 and many more
Check out Strand Festival’s line-up if you feel like having a great time at Lake Balaton this summer. Strand Festival 2020 kicks off on 18 August (Tuesday) and lasts until 22 August (Saturday) in Zamárdi.
Many were devastated when it was announced that most major festivals, like Balaton Sound, Sziget, and Volt, are cancelled this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, the summer festival season is not lost.
The ban on large-scale events lasts until 15 August 2020, and many of the smaller festivals are being held after that. Daily News Hungary reported earlier that some festivals are going to be held at their regular time, and one of those festivals is Strand Festival, which is always organised at the end of August.
Strand (beach in Hungarian) Festival is calling your name if you feel like having a great time at Lake Balaton this summer. I have heard people say that Strand Festival is like the little brother of Balaton Sound. The two festivals do have the same location and give off a somewhat similar vibe; however, I believe that so far, Strand has done a better job at targeting the locals.
The big guns like Sziget Festival and Balaton Sound rely heavily on the significant number of foreign visitors, and they assemble their line-up accordingly. In contrast, Strand has always done an excellent job catering to its Hungarian audience. The local favourites are always there. This year is no exception, bands like Halott Pénz, Punnany Massif, Brains, Wellhello, and Margaret Island are all going be there, and the list goes on and on.

If you have a favourite Hungarian artist, the chances are that they will be performing at the Strand Festival 2020.
Besides the most famous Hungarian musicians, a few international artists pop up as well including Ellie Goulding, Sum 41, Parov Stelar, Timmy Trumpet, Martin Solveig, Milky Chance, and Dj Fresh.
For the complete line-up, check out the festival’s website. Ticket are available here. Considering standard and VIP options, daily tickets range from EUR 28 to EUR 58, and weekly tickets from EUR 100 to EUR 145.
