Hungary, Russia farm ministry officials discuss bilateral ties
Budapest, February 9 (MTI) – Senior officials of the Hungarian and Russian agriculture ministries discussed possibilities in boosting bilateral cooperation in the sector at their meeting in Moscow, the Hungarian agriculture ministry said on Tuesday.
The talks between Hungary’s state secretary Istvan Nagy and Russia’s deputy agriculture minister Yevgeny Gromyko focused on the effects of the Russian embargo on the Hungarian market and possible cooperation in agriculture and food industry technology, the ministry said in a statement.
Nagy told his partner that the ministry will organise a Hungarian-Russian regional agricultural forum in Budapest on Feb. 18.
The Russian partner expressed interest in importing Hungarian seed, seed and plant propagation materials and animals for breeding.
The Russian side also identified potential markets in Russia for Hungarian products exempt of the embargo such as wine, turkey, duck or goose.
