Coronavirus – No deaths, sixteen new infections in Hungary
No Covid-19-related deaths occurred in the past 24 hours but the number of registered novel coronavirus infections has risen by 16 to 4,205, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday morning.
Fully 589 people have died and 2,874 have made a full recovery, while the number of active infections stands at 742. Altogether 1,658 people are in official home quarantine and 286,983 tests have been carried out.
A total of 142 coronavirus patients are in hospital, seven of whom are on ventilators.
The threat of an epidemic has not disappeared and a state of medical preparedness is in effect, the website said. It is compulsory to wear a face mask in shops and on public transport.
Budapest has the highest number of infections (1,988), followed by Pest County (632), and the counties of Fejér (379), Komárom-Esztergom (307) and Zala (262).
Békés and Tolna counties have had the fewest infections (13 each).

Latest count of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide
The following are the latest updates on the COVID-19 global confirmed cases in hardest-hit countries by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University at 0500 GMT, July 7.
The COVID-19 death toll topped 130,000 in the United States on Monday with over 2.9 million infections, as the country’s top infectious diseases expert called for actions to stop the virus resurgence in many states.
“We had been in a situation (where) we were averaging about 20,000 new cases a day,”
Anthony Fauci, director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said in a livestream with Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health on Monday.
The U.S. death toll from the pandemic reached 130,090 on Monday; the country currently has 39.72 deaths per 100,000 residents, placing it among the top 10 countries in the world in that metric, according to data from Johns Hopkins University (JHU).
