Russia’s biggest retail chain to set up carrier in Hungary
Budapest, December 20 (MTI) – Magnit, the biggest retail chain of Russia, will establish a transport company in Hungary, state secretary for foreign affairs and external economic relations Peter Szijjarto said today.
Magnit will operate a fleet of 1,000 trucks and the related infrastructure, creating 1,500 jobs in eastern Hungary, he told a news conference.
Szijjarto, who is also a government commissioner in charge of Hungarian-Russian economic ties, called the agreement a new milestone in the government’s strategy of eastern opening.
The new company will transport food products purchased in Hungary and other EU member states to the Magnit network in Russia, he said.
