Snoop Dogg’s latest song was created by two Hungarian producers – listen to it here
The SMiTHMUSiX producer duo is currently based in Székesfehérvár, but this is not the first time that Norbert and Roland have taken part in an international collaboration.
The latest single of Snoop Dogg, “Baby So West Coast”, was released on 9 September, in collaboration with DomiNo, another legendary rapper who also happens to have had close professional ties with Hungarian duo SMiTHMUSiX for many years now.
The current collaboration started in 2018 when DomiNo asked the Hungarian duo – Norbert Kovács and Roland Körmendi – to produce some musical samples. They sent him a work that had been completed five years before but was never actually used. As Feol writes, DomiNo “fell in love with it at once” and contacted Snoop Dogg to write lyrics to it.
“It is a great honour for us that the song also pays tribute to Tupac and Easy E – this way, these artists have also become part of our work,”
say Norbert and Roland, who have dreamt of working with Snoop Dogg for a very long time. They added that they had worked with his vocal before, but not in their own production.
The SMiTHMUSiX duo is originally from and currently works in Székesfehérvár; they have produced several samples in the genres of EDM, Trap, and Hip Hop for Hungarian and international artists alike.
What they consider a real success in the current collaboration is that it was the two rappers who contacted them and not the other way around.
Since the release of “Baby So West Coast”, they have sent some other works to the two American rappers, so there is a good chance that this is not the last time we have heard about this collaboration.
