The universities of Debrecen, Szeged, and Pécs all ended up between 401-500, which for the University of Pécs is the same place as last year, while Debrecen and Szeged upgraded from 501-600. Similarly to last year, Oxford earned the first place, followed by Harvard, Cambridge, Imperial College London, and Stanford.

1,149 universities were ranked in the field of physical sciences, among which four were Hungarian.
Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) was placed between 401-500, the University of Szeged ranked between 501-600, and BME got a place between 601-800 – all in the same place as last year. The University of Pécs, on the other hand, was listed 801+ last year, while this time, it only made it to the 1,001+ category. The California Institute of Technology was listed first, Berkeley second, and Stanford third. Princeton, which was leading last year, has now fallen back to fourth place.
