The American General Electric startup relies mostly on Hungarian employees
Budapest (MTI) – General Electric’s startup dubbed Current focuses on LED production and related energy-efficiency developments and relies mostly on Hungarian employees, CEO for Europe and Middle East Peter Lau said on Monday.
Current aims to offer its clients, including the Hilton hotel chain and hospitals and shopping malls in the US, efficient solutions that save 10-20 percent on energy costs, Lau told MTI during a visit in GE’s factory in Nagykanizsa in southern Hungary.
GE’s Europe and Middle East division based in London has around 700 employees and 500 of them are in Hungary. The LED plant is in Nagykanizsa, product development is carried out in Hungarian plants and sales support is managed from Hungary, Lau said.
