Great news! Budapest thermal baths to partially re-open soon
On 19 February, more than 200 employees of Budapest Gyógyfürdői és Hévízei Zrt. were inoculated, in order to reopen therapeutical sections in baths belonging to the company partially. Almost all their employees – including cashiers and cloakroom attendants – fall in the category of health care workers.
“Our company asked for the official point of view of the National Institute of Environmental Health (NNK) in order to know whether employees are in a favourable position when it comes to vaccination.”
“The official response from NNK strengthened the opinion of our company,
according to which thermal and health spas belonging to our company dispose of the operating licence permitting to offer medical/therapeutical services, their activity is regarded as medical/therapeutical. Thus all employees having labour relations with our company are considered health care workers.”
– answered Ildikó Szűts, general manager of Budapest Gyógyfürdői és Hévízeis Zrt. when telex.hu reached out to her.
She also added that they try to reduce the risk of infections among visitors with a system of appointments, constant disinfection and with following the example of Austria, where arriving patients/visitors are being tested.
After last November, when PM Viktor Orbán announced the strictest measures up until that point, all thermal baths needed to close, as well. Currently, outpatient care by a specialist does not function either, as according to NNK, it is the job and the responsibility of the operator that only healthy employees welcome the guests. If everything goes according to plans, therapeutical/medical sections will be re-opened on 16 March so that “treatments permitted by the decree” could be benefitted from.
