Henning Berg is the new manager of Videoton FC

Change language:
Videoton FC – He picked up a European Champions League winning medal as a player, and won the Polish domestic league as a manager, as well as the Cup. Berg has signed a two year contract with our club.
The Norwegian manager will begin working with the players from the end of May. He will work together with Zoltán Kovács, director of football, from now until the first training session as they prepare for next season.
“I fought for the league title as a player and also as manager of Legia for the league title and cup. I do not plan for it to be any different in Hungary. Videoton FC is one of the leading clubs in the country, and although Ferencváros have a slight advantage, I am sure that we will pick up the fight and challenge them for the league title. It is an attractive challenge to me as a manager and I can work at a club that is battling to win the league championship. Also there is the chance to participate in European football. I know that things went very well for the team towards the end of the season. I hope that the players will begin their holidays with a good feeling after securing second place. I want them to return for the start of pre-season with the same feeling. I have spoken a lot with Zoltán Kovács, and I know that everybody at the club is working in order that we can win the league title, as well as doing well in Europe. It appeals to me that I can work at an ambitious club like this in the future.” – commented new manager Henning Berg to vidi.hu.
We are proud that we can begin next season with a manager of this calibre. Henning Berg had a very impressive playing career, and has already shown as a head coach what he is capable of. At the same time he is young and extremely motivated. The expectations are high and I hope that we can celebrate the league title together next season. I also hope that we can go as far as possible in the Europa League in the summer. I am sure that we have managed to get a manager whose approach and mentality can give a lot to the club, the players and the whole of Hungarian football“ – said Zoltán Kovács, director of football.
