Workers of Bosch no longer want to wear face masks – they started a petition

Bosch Hungary has three big plants in Hungary: in Hatvan, Miskolc, and Maklár. Even though national COVID-regulations state that wearing a face mask is only obligatory in hospitals and social care facilities, in Bosch, it is still a requirement. Workers would like to abolish that rule immediately.

According to napi.hu, all the employees support the petition, and the trade union already collected 3 thousand signatures. They say that in all other automotive plants in Hungary, mask-wearing has not been obligatory for one month now. Zsolt Kozma, chairman of the trade union, told napi.hu that nothing justifies obligatory mask-wearing at Bosch since workers do not have to wear it outside the factories.

The technology does not require wearing a mask,

either, and it is difficult to work in a mask for 12 hours during the summer heat, he added.

The trade union collected 3 thousand signatures in only three days for the abolishment of the mask-wearing rule. They promise to continue the work.   1. Outside of medical facilities and chemical and bio hazard type jobs it should prohibited to make employees wear mask unless there is a governmental decree to wear them in a health emergency.

    Bosch’s workers should walk off their jobs if the mask rule is not rescinded.
