Only locals to be allowed to park in some areas in Budapest districts?

In district 6 of Budapest, Terézváros, there will be zones where only locals will be allowed to park their cars between 6 PM and 7 AM. The restrictions will probably be implemented in other areas as well.

In Terézváros, 405 parking places will be reserved for residents, which means 30% of all parking spots. Until October 1, people will not be fined for parking there, but they will get warnings. To make parking for locals even easier, 150 parking spaces will be 50-60% cheaper. – writes hvg.hu.

“It is also planned to include more parking spaces in the outer parts of the district and to set up micromobility points at about 80 locations. Only bicycles and scooters can be supported at these points, and later Bubi bikes and electric scooters will only be able to be parked here.” – writes Telex.

City planner Samu Balogh, the mayor’s chief of staff, said at a press conference that the primary purpose of designating the zones is to give some advantage to residents who find it difficult to park their car near their place of residence.
