Photo report of the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress in Budapest
The 52nd International Eucharistic Congress opened in Budapest last Sunday. The opening Mass was celebrated by 100 bishops and some 300 priests. The participants filled Heroes’ Square and a part of Andrassy Avenue.
Between Monday and Friday, lectures on Christian subjects will be offered all day at the Hungexpo grounds, while
concerts and other performances will be held in Széll Kálmán and Örs vezér squares in the afternoons. Concerts, folk dance performances, and book shows will also be held in front of St. Stephen’s Basilica.
Hungary is hosting the event for the second time since 1938. Originally scheduled to be held in 2020, the event was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Though it seemed beforehand that Pope Francis would not meet with PM Viktor Orbán due to political reasons, the pontiff will meet President Áder and Orbán in the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts Sunday morning.

Simple Message – in this Complex World – ever changing that we ALL share.
“Love one another as I have Loved You.”
If not inclined to a Christian DNA – just read the words – which SHOULD send the message, what is lacking – some would say Disappearing – in this Complex World we – ALL – live.
Personally – a “franchised” Catholic – meaning I don’t always agree with Pope Francis – but often find my-self – out and about – then sing – which is used as a Responsorial Psalm :
“I place ALL my Trust in You my God,
ALL my Hope is in your Mercy.”
May the Eucharistic Congress – its MESSAGE – continue to Feed and Grow – ALL.
May it be another living sign of the presence of Christ Jesus alive and living amongst us – the presence of Holy Sprit “radiating” – moving in and around amongst and through us.
Let us Pray – that – this Eucharistic Conferance be viewed amongst “other” blessings, healings and spirtual fulfilments – that it be viewed – by the Wider World – an Instruement of the Peace and Love – that is Christ Jesus – to ALL.
“Love one another
a I have Loved You.” – incorporated in to our daily lives – in our Thoughts Deeds and Actions – to each other.
Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta quote :
” I alone cannot change the World,
but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”
Through our individual – Faith, Trust , Belief and Love of Christ Jesus – his keeping – ALWAYS – his PROMISE to Us – never abandoning us – his Mercy and Forgiveness – Love for Us – we can “create many ripples.”
Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta – Blessed Words of Spritual Wisdom granted her by Christ Jesus – needs “deep” application prayers – by peoples of the World to-day :
” Do not wait for Leaders !
do it alaone,
person to person.”
May this Eucharistic Congress 2021 – be – WITNESSED – by the World – as a Living Instruement in the Peace & Love – the Mercy & Forgiveness – of Christ Jesus.
We all – can “ripple the waters” – through the deepness and growth in our Faith, Trust, Belief and Love – of Christ Jesus.
Mary – Most Blessed and Loved Mother of Our Lord and Saviour – Jesus Christ – please Pray for us.
Throughout my Priesthood – ordained 25 years – a Professor of Theology – who “feeds” – getting out of Academic Environments – to be in and amongst the “real” – bodies and souls – the “earthern” lives – of the Family of Jesus Christ – his Children – my message from the Pulpit/Lectern – has never wavered – Keep it Simple.
Our personal relationship with Christ Jesus – the personal nature human nature of it – Keep it Simple.
Don’t over complex your personal relationship – Keep it Simple.
Speak in your Prayers – in normal Simple ways.
Be You – – don’t be other than YOU – for let us – REMEMBER – through his infinite – Love & Devotion to Us – he knows before – we utter a word or thought – ALL – of our Words, Thoughts and Actions.
Keep it Simple – for He – the greatest of ALL teachers – will talk to you – heal you and Teach you.
Remember – class back in my Seminary days – post Vatican 11 – Jesuit Irish Professor – Con O’Shea – asked the 12 seminarians in my year to write on a piece of paper – when ordained – what image or type of priest did we wish to serve Christ Jesus – his Children and Church ?
My answer – that I be a – SIMPLE Priest – just as Christ Jesus, in his earthly life, lived amonst us as a – Simple Ordinary Person.
The deepness of the Personal Relationship that YOU have with Christ Jesus – in your – Faith, Trust and Belief of Him – his Word – Keep it ALL – Simple.
At the Conclusions of my teaching or Sermon – often – often – taking a few steps away – then returning to the lecturn/pulpit or whatever – having finished my “sharing” with the Sign of the Cross – and say to those present – “zoning” in on the “message” of my “sharing” or homily – and say ;
“Try it – You NEVER know – for You – it May Work.”
Simplify it – Keep it Simple.
There are many stories on the life of St. Francis of Assisi – name choosen by the present Pontiff / Pope – of The Holy Roman Catholic Church – Pope Francis.
Scholars have written that Francis born into a Family of extreme financial comforts, decided “in a calling” he received, to abandon what could have been a life of materialistic comforts to go the way – through a vocational calling – we know his life thankfully – embarked.
It has been written, that St.Francis or Francis at the time this “claimed” situation occurred – entered the Catholic Church in Assisi – which ALL can still in the 21st century visit, and stripped himself naked – stood before the Cross of the Crucified Jesus Christ and said :
“Lord who are You ?
Who am I” ?
The call of his vocation – “tinged” in doubt and un-certainty – we know – St. Francis of Assisi – what he acheived in his Life and to this day – see much of what his – vocation was “planned” to acheive.
God – does have a PLAN – for each and every one of US.
Surrendering himself – naked of materialistic wealth and fortune – in answering the call to a vocation through his – Faith, Trust, Belief and Love – of Christ Jesus – that he had growing inside of him – in his life – as he stood – naked before the Cross of the Crucified Christ.
Do we strip back our life treasures – the materialistic component side of our lives – to give and share our lives with others ?
Little things mean a lot ///
Do we do regular or constant – DEEDS – for others ?
St. Francis of Assisi – answered the call of his vocation.
We give – Praise and Thanks – to our Heavenly Father – for the life of St.Francis of Assisi – what in the 21st century – RIGHTFULLY – his life – gives us – a true on-going example of – Sharing & Giving – the surrendering need in our lives to Christ Jesus – his Word.
Little things mean a lot///
Pope Francis – in choosing Francis as his Papal name – we see in him – much – of the Spritual Values and Lifestyle – that was those “planted” by the ministery of St. Franciss of Assisi.
Thanks be to God.
“Pax et bonum” – Peace and the Good.
