Development Minister: Companies Need To Prepare For Participation In Paks Expansion
Budapest, January 26 (MTI) – Hungarian companies need to get prepared for participation in the expansion of the Paks nuclear power station, development minister Zsuzsanna Nemeth told MTI in an interview published today.
The minister expressed hope that the interstate agreement on financing the project would soon be signed, clearing the way for technical consultations.
In line with an agreement signed with Russia, general contractor Rosatom will be ready to involve Hungarian suppliers in 40 percent of the project but in order to utilise this option, potential companies must be prepared to meet the strict professional conditions and expand their capacities, she said.
Once they are ready for the task, Rosatom will assess the Hungarian companies and once they get approved, they will be able to work with the Russian company even in other projects, she added.
