Székesfehérvár could launch new ice rink stadium project this year
The latest developments concern Székesfehérvár with a much-appreciated project. The construction of a new and modern multifunctional stadium could already star this year.
According to Székesfehérvár.hu, the Hungarian Government has decided to launch a new project that would greatly increase the livelihood of many workers in Székesfehérvár, as well as create a much-needed place for cultural and sports events for the locals and for people nearby.
András Cser-Palkovics, mayor of Székesfehérvár and Tamás Vargha member of the parliament have announced the starting of the project in a Facebook post. In the video they said that it will greatly benefit the entire city and will fulfil an old dream of the city, as they have been wanting a new ice rink for the city’s hockey team.
The other important factor in the project is the fact that a new connecting road will be built through the Alba Industrial Zone between Seregélyesi and Budai út, they said.

The entire project will be financed by the state, reports Telex. The stadium will have permanent ice installed in it to fulfil its primary function as an ice rink, but it will be able to house several types of events.
According to Proalbaregia.hu, the ice can be covered and used for other types of events, such as conferences, meetings, cultural events, concerts and many types of sports events other than only ice hockey.
The mayor added that people in Székesfehérvár will no longer need to travel to Budapest, Veszprém or Győr to be able to attend such large-scale events.
The project could be finished a little over two years and will also include necessary rooms for such a stadium to operate such as restaurants and buffets, offices, meeting rooms and some multifunctional rooms as well.
It is estimated that the stadium capable of hosting events for 6,000 people will have a base cost of around 32 billion forints (€ 91.4 million).
Together with the optional items and an additional 8% reserve, the project will altogether cost a net 35 billion forints (€ 100 million). This includes the connecting road and public utility connections as well, Székesfehérvár.hu reports.

Gotta get the virus under control before you can start putting a lot of people into closed spaces. One good Covid fart or cough & a stampede would kill many.
