History conference: No Obstacles To Study Common History of Hungarians and Croats
Budapest, February 6 (MTI) – There are no longer any obstacles for historians to study the common history of Hungarians and Croats, Croatian Ambassador Gordan Grlic-Radman said in Budapest today.
Addressing a conference on the co-existence of the two nations, the ambassador noted that Hungary had been among the first countries to recognise Croatia’s independence and helped the new country to attain its foreign policy goals.
As EU members, the two countries share the same principles and values, and cooperate actively in the protection of national minorities, he said.
In a message read out at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tibor Navracsics said that historians, making an objective approach, would provide for a better understanding of the two peoples’ long co-existence.
