These celebs shot movies and visited Hungary in 2021
Hungary seems to be an attractive country for Hollywood productions. Many crews come to the country to film entire movies or shoot a few scenes. Besides the splendid sights, favourable taxes are a factor to be considered as well.
As Daily News Hungary reported, Hungary is established as a sought-after place when it comes to filmmaking. The Hungarian capital is one of the favourite locations of Marvel, for example, but Netflix is shooting in the country quite often, too.
In 2022, one of the productions that were shot in Hungary was Borderlands. Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis star in the movie, and the actors were seen in Budapest. Jamie Lee Curtis, for example, also posted a picture of Buda Castle on Instagram. The actress is the daughter of Tony Curtis, who was of Hungarian descent.

Emma Stone, William Dafoe, and Mark Ruffalo also visited Hungary for work. The audience will be able to see them in Poor Things. Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke, starring in Moon Knight, were also spotted in Hungary. The fifth season of The Last Kingdom and the third season of Jack Ryan were also shot in Budapest. As we reported, many celebrities visited Budapest in 2021.
One of the biggest names was Mel Gibson. The Hollywood star dined at Prime Steak & Wine. The restaurant posted a picture on their Facebook page. John Travolta and Arnold Schwarzenegger were also rumoured to have visited Hungary. There were rumours that, on top of the aforementioned celebrities, Rod Stewart, Enrique Iglesias, and Luis Fonsi also visited Hungary in 2021.
Not long ago, we reported that the world-famous singer, Enrique Iglesias, was rumoured to have performed at the richest Hungarian’s Christmas party. Lőrinc Mészáros threw a company Christmas party, an event where someone could win a Suzuki SX4 S-cross at the raffle.
The party seemed to be a lavish and luxurious one, considering that the most important moment – besides winning a car – was that the world-famous singer was the surprise performer. GiImar Gomes, the drummer of Enrique Iglesias, posted a video from Budapest.
