International tourism is back but Air Canada hesitates
Even though international tourism has shown some recovery, the Canadian airline was compelled to reorganise its plans for 2022 as a result of the recent events.
The current precarious situation, the Russian-Ukrainian war, will certainly affect the demand for travel in the Central European region, which is why the decision was made to postpone the resumption of the Toronto-Budapest seasonal flight until the summer of 2022.
In early February, the company announced that its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft would have flown to the Hungarian capital from Canada 3 times a week between May and October 2022, offering almost 1,000 seats a week in one direction during the high season, writes airportal.hu.
Planned return after 2019 halt
According to Air Canada, passengers who have already bought their tickets for the Toronto-Budapest route will be transferred to other partner airlines.
