Ukrainian MP claims PM Orbán did not believe Russians committed the Bucha massacre
Oleksiy Honcharenko (1980) is a Ukrainian politician, chairman of the Odesa Regional Council and leader of the public organization “Quality of Life”. He claims that PM Viktor Orbán did not believe the Russians did the Bucha massacre and wanted evidence. Honcharenko added that the Hungarian prime minister would like to remain an enemy of Ukraine.
Honcharenko: “we will never forget and never forgive”
Unconfirmed reports say that the Ukrainian MP has joined the international debate regarding the Bucha massacre and dragged PM Viktor Orbán into it. He accused Orbán that he would like to remain an enemy of Ukraine. A Russian news outlet published that statement first, referring to the Russian RIA Novosti news agency. However, the news has yet been published only in Russian media, and Ukrainian sources have not confirmed it yet – 24.hu reported.
However,
24.hu found the original Facebook post of Mr Honcharenko, in which he writes even more.
The Ukrainian MP focuses on the Bucha massacre, which president Volodymyr Zelenskiy referred to as a genocide. International media wrote last week that withdrawing Russian troops committed mass murders among the city’s civilians. Of course, the Kremlin did not admit that. Moreover, they said Ukrainians staged it to provoke Russia. Western satellite images weaken Moscow’s standpoint. They show that the residents’ bodies were already on the streets when the Russians were still in Bucha.
Honcharenko wrote on Facebook that, according to Zelenskiy, one of the EU member states’ leaders wanted evidence that the Bucha massacre was not staged.
“He wanted evidence. Zelenskiy refused to name him. But I do. He was the Hungarian prime minister, Viktor Orbán. Orbán does everything to remain an enemy of Ukraine. And we will never forget and never forgive this. If you cover murderers, you become one” –
he concluded his post.
He wants “free ticket” for Ukraine on the world cup
Ukrainian users posted even more radical comments under the post. 24.hu said that Honcharenko has a long career full of scandals. Lately, he said he would find it a good idea if FIFA gave a “free ticket” to Ukraine for the world championships in Qatar. KárpátHír wrote that Mr Honcharenko is a member of the European Solidarity party in Ukraine.
Furthermore, “in January 2015, Ukrainian blogger and journalist Anatoly Shariy published a video showing that Oleksiy Honcharenko travelled on the Celebrity Silhouette cruise ship in the Caribbean. Honcharenko was criticized for going on an expensive vacation during the War in Donbas” – Wikipedia says.
On 9 October 2018, Oleksiy Honcharenko spoke at a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in large rubber gloves. He said that without gloves it would be “unsafe to shake hands and touch door handles”, hinting at the accusations of Russia in the poisoning of Skripals. Assembly President, Liliane Maury Pasquier (Switzerland), made a remark to the Ukrainian deputy: “Mr. Honcharenko, I want to remind you that we are not on the stage of the theater, so it’s not necessary to use different props for changing clothes.”

Orban is right to disbelieve a Ukrainian politicians word about attrocities. The Ukrainians have been killing their own citizens to blame the Russians and create hatred of the Russians in the media in locations where they have not even been. Orban is the only European politician with the courage to use common sense in regard to the Ukraine war that Ukraine brought upon themselves. The Ukraine people are good people it is their USA installed government that is bad. My heart gpoes out to the innocent victims murdered by their own alleged government.
Just wonder what Putin’s hold over Orbán is. He won that election the same way Lukashenko did, with Putin’s input and by instilling fear into those who are easily manipulated. Orbán is actually a weak man, he’s just doing what Putin tells him to. Had the power and money carrot dangled in front of him and took it. Morals would appear to be non existent. Kramatorsk was another atrocity, what are his thoughts on that. Behind closed doors one does wonder if Orbán realises what he’s doing, this is not a game. Does he wrestle with his conscience or try to convince himself that Russia is correct in its ‘liberation of nazis’ with its ‘special military operation’. There is independent satellite evidence of what Russian soldiers have done. Falling out of favour with the V4 and fighting with Brussels really doesn’t seem to worry him, it’s Russia he’s always trying to please. Orbán just bleats about EU funds he thinks he’s entitled to. Only to line his and his cronies’ pockets with though. It’s going to step up a gear now, Putin wants a result by 9 May. Now he has the ‘Butcher of Syria’ as his newly appointed general.
By the way, know that wasn’t you Mario.
@mario – I don’t know if you served in the Armed Services ? Just try getting the Military to shoot at their own people. Even as an exercise. It’s next to impossible (and rightly so). That’s why the Russians sent Hungarian tanks to put down the Prague Spring …
Anonymous, you are right. Indeed, that must be a different Mario.
I think Orbán really has become Putin’s puppet, and this is becoming dangerous, for Nato and for the EU. Should Russia invade Poland next, or any of the Baltic republics, which side will Orbán take? How can we Europeans trust Hungary?
There is a story going around in Hungary that there is a video where a supposed dead person puts his hand out thinking the filming was over. The other problem that Hungarians have with the supposed massacre is that there was a 3 day delay between the leaving of the Russian troops and the supposed discovery of the bodies. Hungary’s history makes its people skeptics.
When I look at the bigger picture, I see an Orban trying to be a Tito, except Orban is sitting on three chairs (Russia, China and the EU).
I feel that Orban admires Putin because of all the personal wealth (stolen from his own people), pomp and pageantry, and how he controls ALL the Russian media, and for how much control he holds over the good people of Russia.
Of course, I could be wrong.
Nin. Mr. Orban has never voiced an opinion as to who are his idols. Mr. Orban, however, did state that he is a “Christian nationalist populous conservative leader”. All Mr. Orban’s policies are geared to the betterment of standard of living of the population of his small country. As a leader he should be admired. The world would be a better place if all leaders cared about the well being of their citizens.
Poor mariavontheresa, so willing to believe. Actions speak louder than words, Orbán doesn’t have to name his idols. When you live in this country, then you’ll see how it all works. Trump also declared himself as “the most humble man” you believe that too don’t you.
Anonymous, Mr. Orban managed to achieve diplomacy with Russia. Think for a moment. If Zelensky or Biden were smart enough, Ukraine would not be in shambles, American taxpayers would not be paying for weapons not used to protect the country and the world’s food supply would not be threatened.
It is time for serious “detente”.
