Hungary leads Europe in food price rise – it reaches 50% in some cases

Nowhere in Europe did food prices skyrocket that much as in Hungary, a Hungarian news outlet says based on the data of the Eurostat. Meanwhile, a Hungarian agricultural economist, György Raskó says that demand was dwindling because people were saving money due to the crisis. Therefore, the trend might reverse soon, so he expects that food prices might decrease in Hungary.
Food prices rise astonishingly big
Food prices were 10.4 pc higher than in January in Hungary. That is the fourth highest number in the European Union. Based on the Eurostat data, only the Baltic states precede Hungary in that respect. Meanwhile, the average inflation in the EU was 6.3 pc, 444.hu reported.
If we take only food, Hungary is on the top of the price rise list in the European Union. That concerns bread, milk, fruits, beer, and alcohol-free beverages. The prices of these products rose the most in Hungary. For example, bread prices increased by 37 pc, while in Lithuania, which is in the second place, that rate was “only” 20pc. The price rise rate was 20 pc concerning fruits, while 18 pc in the case of alcohol-free beverages. The price of beer went up by 11 pc in Hungary.
Furthermore, Hungary’s position worsens if we compare it with other EU members. In June, Hungary lead only in bread and meat.
I am a very price affected consumer. In Auchen, their butter has doubled in price, from 500HUF to 1000HUF for the store brand. Milk has gone from 200HUF to 350HUF for 3.5% fat. Coffee has gone up and is now never on sale. Wine never goes on sale any more. This is real shopping yesterday.
At long last Hungary finally makes it to the top of a ranking table. The Hungarian government must be as pleased as punch!
REMEMBER – VAT = 27% – imposed by the Hungarian Government.
This “Dictatorial” Government of Hungary – led by Prime Minister – Victor Orban – concur with Post Modern – citizens SUFFER – that factually – we are being “Screwed”.
The “BIG Players” possible owned by members of the Oligarchs – certainly SUPPORTERS of – the Fidesz Party -Government of Hungary – suppliers/distributors of Food and “other” needed human day to day living items – “blessed” somewhat by this present Government, being allowed/permitted – to GOUGE – exercising blatant acts of Extortion – at the “thinning” pockets of Hungarians.
Inflation – facts why we are HURTING in Hungary – not using the Russian War as an EXCUSE, as this present Government “veils” it-self in major part behind.
Facts – and this GOUGING – as explained is an example of Wrongfullness – that is contributing to the down-ward trend of Hungary and on the lessening the MASSIVE impact it is having – on the Quality of Life, of MILLIONS of Hungarians.
The worst thing is that we are not getting any election bribes for the next 4 years.
