In 2022, Etyeki Kúria Winery is the winner of the Most Beautiful Winery in Hungary in the category Vineyard/Winery.

The aim of the award is to showcase estates where innovative agricultural activities are taking place. At the same time, the beauty of the estate is kept in mind alongside the professionalism of the work.

Anyone who has been familiar with Etyek for decades, and who visited the tiny village in the 1990s, for example, would certainly not recognise Öreghegy and its surroundings. Not that the village of 3,900 people was much worse off than the national average, but because today, thanks to the passionate work of a few enthusiastic winemakers and entrepreneurs, it has become one of the country’s most pleasant wine destinations, with Etyeki Kúria Winery standing out.

When we call Etyeki Kúria Winery, founded in 1996, a winery, we paint a very grey picture. Winemaking is just a slice of it – admittedly, a very important one – but here the focus is not only on making excellent white and red and sparkling wines, but also on giving visitors a special experience. Even though we are only 20 kilometres from Budapest, it’s like being transported to another world. The atmosphere is that of a real island, free from the distractions of the outside world.

Anyone who comes here will breathe a sigh of relief, a weight lifted off their shoulders, a release of spirit – and all without having had a sip of wine. From the terrace of the Etyeki Kúria you can enjoy a magnificent view: vineyards in front of you, the buildings of Etyek peeking out from the foliage, and the Buda Hills in the distance.
