Shortage of popular Pilóta biscuits in Hungary will most likely last
The second most popular Hungarian biscuit, Pilóta, has disappeared from most shops. According to the manufacturer, a permanent stock shortage is to be expected.
Pilóta biscuits have been out of stock in most shops for at least a month. The Székesfehérvár plant is facing a shortage of raw and packaging materials, hvg.hu reports, citing reports from readers. According to Mondelez Hungária Kft., a permanent stock shortage should be expected.
The company confirmed that there is a shortage of Pilóta sandwich biscuit products, which affects the vast majority of their retail and reseller channels, Index writes. This will not be resolved overnight, as it is caused by difficulties in their production capacity and by a shortage of raw materials and packaging, which is also affecting the confectionery sector.
“Mondelez Hungária is doing its utmost to ensure that the second most popular biscuit product among Hungarians is available to consumers as soon as possible, in quantities that meet demand,” he added.
