PHOTOS, VIDEO: This will be the tallest Christmas tree in Hungary
Hungarian Public Roads (Magyar Közút) will transform the Megyeri Bridge over the River Danube North from Budapest into the tallest Christmas tree in Hungary.
According to their statement, this year will be the second year when the Megyeri Bridge will serve not only as an overpass but also as the tallest Christmas tree in the country. The bridge is part of the M0 ring road around Budapest.
However, this year they will use only the primary decorative lighting of the bridge. That will turn green soon. The effect will probably be less spectacular, but both pylons will be enlightened, origo.hu wrote.
Thankfully, the checkup was successful this Thursday. Thus, from today on, everybody will be able to check out the decorative lighting of the bridge in the next two weekends.
Between 23 and 26 December, both Megyeri Bridge pylons turn green. Furthermore, on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, they will get a Christmas top ornament.
On the second weekend, between 30 December and 1 January, the bridge will shine green again. The decorative lighting will last between sunset and sunrise on the above-written days.
Hungarian Public Roads is responsible for the operation and maintenance of nearly 32,000 km of national roads.
