Hungary’s motorway vignettes get more expensive – here is the newest price list

The annual national motorway vignettes for private cars valid from 1 January 2023 will cost HUF 49,190 (EUR 121.99), which is about 5 percent more than this year’s HUF 46,850 (EUR 117). The price of next year’s annual county vignette jumped from HUF 5,450 (EUR 13.61) to HUF 5,720 (EUR 14.28).
According to a price table published on the website of the National Toll Payment Service Ltd, vignettes valid for shorter time periods will increase more significantly.
According to index.hu, for private cars (D1 category), the price of monthly motorway vignettes will be HUF 8,900 (EUR 22.22) next year, up from HUF 5,210 (13.01). For comparison, in Romania people can buy Romanian vignettes for a fraction of the Hungarian price: a 30-day-vignette costs RON 34.62 (EUR 7).
A vignette valid for ten days will cost HUF 5,500 (EUR 13.73), up from HUF 3,820 (9.54) this year. In Romania, there is no county vignette, and instead of the 10-day solution, there is one valid for 7 days that costs RON 14.84 (EUR 3).

In the Romanian site, a 90-day vignette is RON 64.30 (EUR 13).
