PM Orbán pays respects at Pope Benedict XVI’s catafalque
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and his wife, Anikó Lévai, paid their respects at the catafalque of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI in St Peter’s Basilica in Rome on Tuesday, the prime minister’s press chief said.
Orbán and Lévai prayed for the late pope and for mourning Christians, Bertalan Havasi said.
Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, who died on Saturday, will be interred on Thursday. President Katalin Novák will be in attendance, along with other heads of state and government.

President Novák to attend the funeral
President Katalin Novák will leave Budapest on Thursday morning to attend the funeral service of the late Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI in Vatican City, the president’s press office said on Tuesday. The president will be accompanied by deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén, the president’s office said.
