Marcell Rév became member of Hollywood’s master filmmaker group
Marcell Rév became a member of the American Society of Cinematographers, the Embassy of Hungary in Washington DC wrote. Congratulations!
According to the embassy’s Facebook post, Rév won an Emmy Award in 2021 for his work on the HBO Max series Euphoria. “Among others, he has worked on White God, Jupiter’s Moon, and The Story of My Wife. Rév now follows the footsteps of fellow Hungarians and legendary cinematographers Vilmos Zsigmond and Lajos Koltai”, the embassy added.
Meanwhile, 444.hu, a Hungarian media outlet, said that Mr Rév made Miley Cyrus’s new clip, Flowers. That song promotes her latest studio album and debuted this morning on YouTube. According to the critics, it is about Cyrus’s divorce from American film star Liam Hemsworth.

The Hungarian filmmaker lives in Los Angeles. He made a clip with the Hungarian Kinopravda team to a Diplo song selected in the contest program of the movie section of SXSW. South by Southwest, abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By, is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences organised jointly taking place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States.
Rév said in an interview that he did not want to emigrate to Hollywood. “It just happened to me”, he said.
