Parking rules change in Budapest’s popular tourist and holiday spot

From 21 January, parking rules will fundamentally change in one of Budapest’s most popular tourist and holiday spots.

According to 444.hu, we will have to pay for parking on Normafa, Budapest’s famous holiday and tourist spot, at the weekends from 21 January. The new regulation concerns the parking lot next to the CBA shop. Furthermore, it will also be in effect on holidays.

The parking lot in question is at the crossroads of the Eötvös and Hegyhát streets, near the CBA. The decision was made by the local government of the 12th district. There, a solid Fidesz-KDNP majority has been ruling for decades. Based on their statement, the parking fee will be HUF 440 (EUR 1.1) per hour on the weekends between 8 AM and 8 PM. Otherwise, parking remains free there.

Moreover, motorists with green license plates and motorbike owners will also have to pay. Meanwhile, parking for disabled people will remain free in the parking lot.

Those having a permanent or temporary address in the 12th district and obtaining a vehicle under 3.5 tonnes will get a 50 percent reduction from the fee.
