New developments to improve passenger comfort at Budapest Airport
Budapest Airport is introducing passenger-friendly developments again. A children’s playground has been installed on Pier 1; the waiting time for the security check is available on the Budapest Airport website; and the Universal Airport HUB in Terminal 2B has been expanded with the addition of over-the-counter medicines.
Checking the time for security check
Passengers can now check on the Budapest Airport website how long it will take them to pass through the security check when they arrive at the terminal, airportal.hu reports. The monitors in the building have been displaying the exact waiting time since last year, but now passengers can also see this information before arriving at the airport.
With this development, Budapest Airport aims to make the time spent at the airport even more stress-free and predictable, thanks to smoother passenger flow than ever before.

Thanks to the display and the recent modernisation of security screening, waiting times are less than five minutes on average. However, last year during the summer rush hour, they did not exceed 13 minutes, according to the operator.
New children’s playground on Pier 1
In the playground at Pier 1, adjacent to Terminal 2A, children can enter a mini airport where they can control traffic, board a plane and take over the runway, which is a miniature replica of Runway 1 at Budapest Airport. The children’s playground offers a safe and enjoyable wait for the little ones, so that their holiday experience can start at the airport.
Over-the-counter medicines available at the airport
To meet the needs of passengers, a new service has been added to the Universal Airport HUB in Terminal 2B, where it is now possible to purchase medicines and pharmaceuticals without a prescription. The range of products available is constantly expanding. There are already nearly fifty different products available for customers suffering from fever and pain, sleep problems, stress symptoms, upper respiratory complaints, indigestion, eye, ear and skin irritations. The Universal Airport HUB at the airport is located on the ground side of the concourse, next to Spar and is open around the clock.
