British paper: Viktor Orbán blackmails the EU
According to the British Daily Express, Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is blackmailing the European Union, but Brussels is ready to give in to the Hungarian Prime Minister’s demands.
British paper says Orbán is blackmailing the EU
Over the past decade, the Orbán government has built increasingly close economic and diplomatic ties with Russia. Hungary has signed several agreements to buy Russian gas, oil and nuclear fuel. As a result, Hungary has repeatedly refused and blocked the adoption of sanctions packages, the Daily Express reports.
The British paper writes that Orbán believes that sanctions are ineffective in stopping the war and are doing more harm to the European economy than to Russia. On Tuesday, EU ambassadors failed to reach an agreement with the Hungarian government on the new sanctions package. Two diplomats say Brussels is ready to give in to Orbán’s demands. The Hungarian government is demanding the removal of four people from the list of sanctioned individuals.

Polish newspaper says Hungary is not just Viktor Orbán
Viktor Orbán’s attitude to the war foreshadows his imminent political downfall, according to the author of wPolityce. Mandiner.hu wrote that the title of the article published in the Polish newspaper was “Hungary is fortunately not only Viktor Orbán.”
According to the article, Orbán will fail because he maintains economic cooperation with Putin and “tries to prevent or at least ease the economic and financial sanctions imposed by the European Union on guilty Russia”.
The Polish paper points out that Hungary has long been an ally of Poland, even under Orbán. It also mentions that Hungarians have proven more than once in their history that they are capable of upholding and fighting for the highest human values.

To Daily Express ,,,what about the EU withholding funds from hungary that are owed ,but they are blackmailingHungary by withholding them until [against the peoples wishes ]we join things we don,t want to join .as a nation .
@David, having commonly pre agreed rules to follow in order to be eligible for funds is not blackmailing. Using the Veto right to maximise for yourself (sorry it’s not for Hungarians) that is blackmailing.
The communist EUSSR is evil and should be ended asap.
PLAY fully Hungary by the Contractual Laws and Rules of Membership of the European Union, that ALL come under being a member country of DEMOCRACY.
Orban has created this WEDGE – continuously moving away from DEMOCRACY, and the PUNISHEMENT – the PAIN being endured by Hungary, the retaining of funding to Hungary by the European Union – never BLAME other than Victor Orban & his Government.
Victor Orban and his Government have OWNERSHIP of this European Union “Divorce.”
Orban – his “tampering” with Democracy, then escalating it to SHEER blatant opposite decisions VOID of any resemblance of DEMOCRACY – Appalling.
