Hungary’s largest spa complex to open soon
On 17 June, the world’s first 7-star sea themed water park will open in Győr, Hungary. This unique bathing complex will be the biggest hit of the summer season.
One-of-a-kind bathing complex in Hungary
Hungary’s biggest and most expensive spa opens on 17 June. For adults, the ticket costs HUF 9,700 (EUR 25.94), which includes access to the beach, the adventure pool and the thermal water pool. Residents will be eligible for HUF 5,800 (EUR 15.51) passes upon showing their IDs.
A swimming pool ticket is also available for HUF 3,500 (EUR 9.36), and so is a combined thermal pool and swimming pool ticket for HUF 6,500 (EUR 17.39). Pensioners and children will be admitted at a discounted price.
The water park is expected to be a highly sought after seasonal attraction that will draw thousands of tourists to the historic northwestern city. The 32-metre soda siphon slide is undoubtedly the symbol of the complex. While soaking in the panoramic pools, spa-goers can also admire the city centre of Győr from the balmy waters.
The operator of the spa is SPA Hungary Holding Ltd, and the annual maintenance cost reaches HUF 3 billion (EUR 8,024,133.09). At peak times, the spa will employ 165 people, and wages are said to exceed HUF 130 million (EUR 347,712.43), according to napi.hu.
Unique spa experience
The RQ Water Experience Park and Spa in Győr has a total of 21 pools. It will be one of Europe’s most modern and sophisticated water parks. The investment is worth more than HUF 23 billion (EUR 61,518,353.71), which is considered an absolutely unparalleled venture in Hungary.
“Every hotel or restaurant is given a classification when it first opens, but this often erodes over time. This won’t be the case with “Star of the Sea” as we will thoroughly reassess our facility and the quality of our services every year. The spa has to meet a strict criteria in terms of architecture, cleanliness, hospitality, gastronomy and health,” says Imre Kovacsics, owner of Spa Holding Ltd.
The sokszinuvidek.24.hu mentions that the 7-star is a surefire sign that the spa complex has reached the zenith of the hospitality world. Guests entering the spa will be greeted by an aquarium filled with seawater and live starfish. The spa also features a gift shop, while its kitchen will offer both local and gourmet delicacies.
