Belgian experts came to Budapest, Hungary, in June to study the MOL Bubi bicycle service.

According to Budapest Transport Centre (BKK), the international attention is a major professional recognition. Budapest was chosen from 85 cities, along with Madrid, Paris, Marseille, Antwerp and Ghent.

It is important for Belgium to study Budapest because Brussels is similar to the Hungarian capital. The cooperation is also useful for BKK as it gives them access to data on Dutch and Belgian cycling services.

The BudapestGO app also shows the MOL Bubi collection points and the available bikes and routes, napi.hu writes.

Unbroken popularity

Monthly and average daily use of Mol Bubi has increased by 60-70 percent compared to the same period last year, and growth has continued despite the strong spring.

More than 5 million trips have been made since the system was relaunched. Almost 2,500 bicycles are now available for use by hundreds of cyclists.
