Extreme price hike at petrol stations this week in Hungary
The wholesale price of petrol and diesel increased sharply today, on 13 September, in Hungary. This was just the beginning. The price of fuel will rise again from Friday, which is expected to lead to higher prices at petrol stations.
There is no stopping the rise in fuel prices: petrol and diesel will become more expensive again on Friday, according to holtankoljak.hu.
Wholesale petrol and diesel prices are also set to rise from Friday, which is expected to be reflected in prices at petrol stations. According to the portal, the price of petrol will jump by HUF 7 gross and that of diesel by HUF 11. Today, petrol prices rose by HUF 4 and diesel prices by HUF 15. This means that in just 2 days, diesel prices will have gone up by HUF 26.
On this basis, you can fill up at the following average prices over the weekend:
- 95 petrol: HUF 655/litre (EUR 1.70);
- diesel: HUF 676/litre (EUR 1.76).
According to a recent forecast by GKI, the price of a litre of fuel could rise by up to HUF 50 in a few months. This means that that average prices could jump to over HUF 700 (EUR 1.82) as early as this year. It is estimated that the average family is already leaving HUF 10,000 (EUR 26) more at the pumps each month if they fill up with the same amount of fuel as last year, rtl.hu writes.

How come the inflation is decreasing if the transportation of goods and energy prices is increasing so much?
Maybe the KSH is cooking the numbers…like always?
