The council of Arab ambassadors in the Hungarian capital, Budapest, discussed recent developments in Gaza Strip, and met with a number of high-level Hungarian government officials.
The council held a meeting with Minister of European Affairs, the Secretary of State for Security Affairs among representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to further discuss the Gaza Strip situation, responding the Arab drafted resolution adopted in the United Nations General Assembly, calling for an immediate, durable and sustained humanitarian truce.
The delegation of Arab ambassadors handed over a memorandum that included a broad description of the Gaza Strip events, and a detailed refutation of all the Israeli government’s claims. It also included a list of Israeli massacres committed against the Palestinian people since 1948, in addition to an information sheet listing the numbers of martyrs and wounded, buildings, hospitals, schools and other facilities targeted by the Israeli occupation forces. The council delivered a comprehensive legal documents supporting how Israeli crimes amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The delegation of Arab ambassadors, represented by the ambassadors of Palestine, Morocco, Egypt and Kuwait, was keen to clarify the dimensions of the current situation in the region, and to confirm that the current situation in Gaza Strip represents a dreadful and unprecedented humanitarian crisis, as a result of the indiscriminate targeting of civilians and the comprehensive destruction of residential neighborhoods. It also showed the Genocide and collective punishment Israel practices in violation of international law. It was also emphasized in the meeting that the issue is based on the Israeli occupation and the issue cannot be reduced to a specific date.
