Forgot to buy something? These shops are open even today!

Hungarian retail chains and stores have announced one after the other their decision to remain closed on Christmas Eve. This move allows their employees to enjoy three consecutive days with their families. However, not all establishments have taken this route, as revealed by a Hungarian media outlet’s roundup of those still open today.

According to index.hu, Penny, Lidl, Rossmann, Jysk and Diego shops will remain closed today. Furthermore, Spar shops will only be open in the malls.

Nevertheless, all markets in Budapest are open until 12.00 a.m. or 1.00 p.m. on 24 December, so you should not postpone your shopping until the afternoon.

Aldi and Auchan will keep their doors open until noon today. Furthermore, last-minute shoppers can head to any Tesco outlet in Hungary, as they’ll be welcoming visitors until 12.00 p.m. Other stores open today:

• Metro,
• Reál,
• dm drogerie markt

In addition, there are two McDonald’s open today in Aréna Park and MOM Park in Budapest, as reported by 444.hu. Meanwhile, all Burger King restaurants remain open today.

Pharmacies will maintain their services until noon on Christmas Eve, with the exception of duty pharmacies, which will stay open throughout Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Clear signage indicating the nearest duty pharmacy is mandatory for all pharmacies.

• JYSK,
• Libri,
• Lidl,
• Penny,
• Spar (except for Interspars in the malls and Spar shops at fuel stations),
• Rossmann.
