Hungarian spirit won prestigious international award
Mrs Millicent is one of the leading gin trademarks of Hungary. Now, two of its versions have been awarded at the prestigious World Gin Awards.
According to turizmus.com, Mrs Millicent’s “Summereasy” received gold rank and was chosen Hungary’s best in the contemporary gins category. The original “Speakeasy” type got a bronze ranking in the same category.
The Mrs Millicent Speakeasy is a new-wave Hungarian gin containing juniper and a mix of several spice crops and herbs. Among others, it has cardamom, orange and bergamot. The Summereasy gin is a citrus version of it, having the juice of fruits, resulting in an intensive fresh and strong taste.
The jury of the World Gin Awards recognised that vibrant taste with gold and the award of the best Hungarian contemporary gin. The original Speakeasy is different from traditional gins because of its audacious flavour.

Important milestone for the Hungarian gin industry
Mónika Czakó, the BESTILLO pálinka distillery’s co-owner and the wife of Gábor Czakó, the producer of the Mrs Millicent gin, was very happy about the award. She expressed her pride in her husband who could develop a world-recognised product, and all their friends who encouraged them to submit their gin to the contest.
She added that the recognition is a milestone not only for their product and unique trademark, but the entire Hungarian catering industry.
Hungary has produced new gins one after the other following the change in the world’s drinking trends. The World Gin Awards is a perfect opportunity to show the world how advanced Hungarian ginmaking is. As a result, their products can acquire their place on the world map.
