Daily flights between Budapest and major world centre in Asia from March!
From the start of the summer timetable, Shanghai Airlines will operate daily flights from China’s biggest industrial city to Budapest. In addition, at least one new destination in southern China is expected to be added to the offer this year.
Daily flights between Shanghai and Budapest
In a statement sent to AIRportal.hu, Budapest Airport said that the Chinese airline will switch from the current three flights a week to daily flights between Shanghai and Budapest. The route will continue to be operated with four-class Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
Including the airline’s flights to Ningbo, the expansion will mean a 35% increase in capacity.
With daily flights, the network of China Eastern Airlines, Shanghai Airline’s parent company, will provide even better connections between Budapest and Southeast Asia, New Zealand and Australia.

Air China will also increase the number of its flights between Beijing and Budapest from two to three flights per week during the summer season, Budapest Airport announced.
In summer, the capacity of two-way flights between Budapest and China will increase by 51% compared to the same period last year, said Balázs Bogáts, Deputy Chief Commercial Officer at the airport.
Currently, four destinations – Beijing, Chongqing, Ningbo and Shanghai – are served by direct passenger flights from Budapest. The airport operator intends to add at least one more city in southern China as an additional destination.
