PHOTOS, VIDEO: Lake Balaton beach and shore in Keszthely will be stunning
Jenő Manninger, the town’s mayor, presented the plans for the development of the Lake Balaton shore in Keszthely. We can tell you that it will look magnificent. Here are some photos and a video about what the leadership of the town plans.
According to turizmus.com, Keszthely has HUF 8.7 billion (EUR 22.6 million) now for the project and will spend HUF 1.5 billion (EUR 3.88 million) in the first phase of the construction. Currently, the authorisation process of the plans is underway.
Thanks to the project, Keszthely’s main beach will be expanded. Furthermore, they will build a new promenade and catering units there. Most of the football pitch will remain a green space attached to the town’s beach. Based on the plans, the building will be erected on only 8.1% of the territory.
They would like to create a line of restaurants and pubs that can serve guests even during spring and autumn.
All catering places will have two entrances: one from the beach and the other from the promenade. Therefore, both bathers and walkers can eat or have a drink there.
The construction will start in 2025
The first phase of the programme is funded with HUF 1.5 billion from the European Union’s TOP programme.
Among others, they will also create a fountain from where promenades will lead to the entrance of the beach and the new parking lot.
The new restaurants and buffet buildings will be designed to commemorate Keszthely’s past but will satisfy all needs.
Mr Manninger told the press that the authorisation plans are ready, so locals can submit modifications.
The public procurement process will start next January, so the construction of the first phase starts in autumn 2025. Later, a new sauna and event buildings will be built.
