Dawn heat records broken on Wednesday in Hungary
Unusually mild weather continued on Wednesday, with dawn heat records broken in the country and in the capital, HungaroMet said on its website.
A dawn temperature of 11.1 degrees Celsius was measured in Tatabanya, in northern Hungary, beating the previous record of 10.5 C measured at meteorological stations in Keszthely and Zalaegerszeg in 1994, the site said on Thursday.
In Budapest, 9.7 C was measured in the south-western Lágymányos area, breaking the previous record of 8.9 C measured at Országút station in 1912.
