New, innovative ‘safari’ hotel opens near superb Hungarian zoo – VIDEO
A new three-star hotel opened in Szeged, a Southeastern Hungarian city close to the Serbian border. Located near the Szeged Zoo, the new Safari Hotel can accommodate 73 guests. The building cost was HUF 500 million (EUR 1.27 million).
Kristóf Szőke, the new safari hotel’s manager, said on the Friday press tour that the building has three storeys, 34 rooms, and can accommodate 73 guests. Standard rooms have two or three beds, but there are family suites and a room adjusted to the needs of disabled people.
Those arriving at the place can check in automatically with a device developed by Procontrol Ltd, a Szeged-based company. It prints their room card, and guests can even pay with it for what they consume when leaving the hotel. The device has a document scanner. As a result, it can forward the guest data to the National Tourism Data Supply Centre, turizmus.com wrote.
Between 7 AM and 7 PM, a receptionist works in the hotel welcoming the guests. In the parking lot, there are four e-car chargers, the manager added.

Róbert Ábrahám-Türes, CEO of the subcontractor Sziki-Ép Ltd., said they ran an accommodation with ten rooms before. They started to build the new safari hotel in end-2021 and created a total useful floor area exceeding 1,000 sqm. He added the costs reached HUF 500 million (EUR 1.27 million), part of which they covered with loans.
They await families in the first place due to the unique location of the new hotel near the Szeged Zoo. Furthermore, athletes and guests of sports events are expected to choose the new hotel because it is close to the Maty-ér National Kayak and Rowing Olympic Centre.
