Ferenc Móra’s love decalogue
The original love decalogue dedicated to Ilona Kalmár is Móra’s stream of thoughts. It is an authentic work with Móra’s handwriting and it can be found in a historical anthology of literature in Móra Ferenc Museum.
The late Ferenc Móra’s love for the young Ilona Kalmár is one of the most exciting romantic stories of Hungarian literature. Thanks to this relationship, he wrote poems, love letters, and passionate texts, which are not only interesting in the ordinary sense, but splendid and unforgettable even in modern times.
Most of the texts dedicated to Ilona Kalmár are treasures hidden from the public to this day. The love decalogue has not been published either. The secret collection, according to Ilona Kalmár’s wish, was given to Móra Ferenc Museum after the death of his mistress, in 1986. She kept his secret in her heart all her life.
The secret love poems of Ferenc Móra are going to be published in a couple of weeks. Love letters and the love decalogue itself will also be introduced to the audience.
The document is a truly passionate, exciting, piquant text, and therefore there have been many raised doubts about its origin. The Móra Ferenc Museum in Szeged affirmed that he indeed was the author of the decalogue.
