Amrita Sher-Gil Cultural Centre (ASCC), Embassy of India, Budapest, Hungary, celebrated the festival of colours, Holi, on March 22, 2023. The event witnessed a vibrant and diverse gathering, including India lovers in Hungary and members of the Indian community.
Holi, known as the festival of colours, is a significant and joyous occasion in Indian culture symbolizing the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of spring. The celebration at the Amrita Sher-Gil Cultural Centre was a reflection of the spirit of unity and cultural harmony.
Participants enjoyed traditional Indian music, dance performances, and the playful splashing of colours, marking the festive atmosphere of Holi. The event brought together people from various backgrounds, fostering friendship and camaraderie among attendees.
Welcoming the guests, Director of ASCC, Dr. Mukesh Kumar Srivastava said, we are delighted to host this colourful celebration of Holi. Speaking on the importance of Holi festival, he said, “Holi is a festival that transcends boundaries and brings people closer. As we immerse ourselves in the vibrant colours of Holi, let us also remember the values it represents – love, friendship, and inclusivity.
