PM’s daughter Ráhel Orbán would like to see more luxury stores in Hungary

Ráhel Orbán, daughter of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, recently discussed tourism in Hungary with a Middle Eastern magazine. She expressed her view that Hungary is a diverse, open and multicultural country. While satisfied with the nation’s security, she expressed a desire for more luxury brands to establish a presence in Hungary.

Ráhel Orbán, Creative Director of BDPST Group and Managing Director of BDPST Koncept, gave an interview to the Middle Eastern luxury magazine Adam & Eve (a&e), rtl.hu spotted. In the interview, she emphasised that Budapest should be on everyone’s travel bucket list for 2024 and also took the opportunity to promote her own brands in the country.

Hungary is a great destination for tourists

Ráhel Orbán addressed various misconceptions about Hungary, particularly regarding the language and the openness of its people.

“People say that Hungary is not diverse or multicultural, but if you visit and see how it is, you will find it is very multicultural. It is a very respectful and peaceful place, and for travellers, it’s very appealing,” she said.

– said Ráhel Orbán.

She praised local cuisine, stunning cultural sights and the safety of the country as key attractions for tourists. “Public transport is great, and people love to use it here, and it’s safe,” she added.

Budapest’s need for luxury shopping

“The only thing that is really missing,” Ráhel Orbán told the magazine, “is luxury shopping, and we are pushing for this.”

She also pointed out that the Hungarian tax system is highly favourable for business, with the potential to attract future luxury investments.

“Our tax system is great, so it is a good place for business. We already have great hotels, with many more coming – Mandarin Oriental, Ennismore, Sofitel, EHG – we have all the big brands, as well as four and three-star hotels, which also maximises the offering for travellers.”

Ráhel Orbán teams up with the Hungarian Tourism Agency to promote Budapest

When asked to describe Budapest in one word, Ráhel Orbán replied: “Spice of Europe. It’s not one word, but it is what it means to me. Yes, we are European, but with a twist. That’s actually the motto of Budapest.” In this regard, Ráhel Orbán appears to be in agreement and close cooperation with the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ).

As DNH reported last week, “Spice of Europe” is also the name of a series of events organised by the MTÜ, which involved inviting dozens of world-famous influencers to Budapest to promote tourism. Ráhel Orbán played a significant role in the Budapest Influencer Trip.

As Telex reports, during the festivities, Jordanian travel blogger Kefaya Abudayyeh, who boasts 1.2 million followers on Instagram, shared an Instagram story profusely thanking Ráhel Orbán for “this super little opportunity to indulge in free luxury.”

“Ráhel, we love you sincerely, and thank you for everything. You are wonderful, and we love every moment here. I swear, I really mean it, and not just me, but all the girls,” the blogger is heard saying, with other attendees sharing her sentiments.

As Telex writes, the recording was likely made at a luxury hotel owned by Ráhel Orbán’s husband, István Tiborcz, and the influencers probably visited at least one other Tiborcz hotel during their stay.

Ráhel Orbán wields considerable influence in MTÜ affairs. According to 444.hu , she participated in creating the new country brand in 2018. An audio recording of her discussing state funds with tourism officials became public. In 2022, one of her friends was appointed CEO of the MTÜ, and the certification of domestic hotels was assigned to a board comprising members from the business circles of Ráhel Orbán and István Tiborcz.

  1. Her dad is all about white concervative Christian Hungary and she goes on about open multicultural and respectful Hungary… maybe she should first try to convince her dad about respecting multicultural and tolerance of diversity in Hungary.

  2. Luxury stores for Rahel Orban and the rest of the Fidesz elite and a Russian discount grocery chain for the proletariat. Fidesz literally has been giving out potatoes in rural Hungary to buy votes.

  3. Naivety dominates, what is spoken by the daughter of the Prime Minister of Hungary – Victor Mihaly. Orban.
