PHOTOS – Flooding Danube: Water level extremely high in Budapest
As we reported yesterday, due to the incoming Danube tidal surge and the continuously rising water level, Budapest Public Road (Budapest Közút) closed a part of the lower quay of Buda and a part of the lower quay of Pest from 20:00 on Thursday, 6 June 2024. Several sections of the lower quay are forecast to be flooded today.
What is more, yesterday, the main building of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) had to be closed due to high water levels. The photos below show how high the Danube is now in Budapest:
