EP: Hungary must comply with EU rules
Hungary must comply with the provisions of the Geneva Refugee Convention, the EU’s fundamental charter and EU laws and enforce them, those “cannot be negotiated”, Othmar Karas, the outgoing First Vice-President of the European Parliament representing the European People’s Party (EPP), said on Friday, in connection with a recent ruling by the Court of Justice of the EU.
The CJEU on Thursday ordered Hungary to pay a lump sum of 200 million euros and a penalty of 1 million euros per day of delay for failure to comply with an earlier ruling on asylum and return. The court noted that it had ruled in December 2020 that Hungary had failed to comply with EU rules on procedures for granting international protection and returning illegally staying third-country nationals.
In a statement, Karas said that the CJEU’s ruling “confirms” that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s “unacceptable asylum policy is unlawful”.
In the spirit of “loyal cooperation”, Hungary must observe the rules passed on the effective protection of external borders, the adoption of asylum procedure rules at external borders and regarding the solidarity mechanism, the Austrian politician said.

First paragraph is the “Creed” by which, the Orban – Fidesz Government of Hungary, if they continue, to NOT comply, the mounting pressurization on there Membership, will see there RIGHTFUL expulsion.
hope that asutrian politicans family gets a taste of illegal immigration and this entire thing is a joke literally undemocratic piece of shit financed by globalists (jews) to destroy european nations
The decent Europeans must be thanking Hungary for their new Iron Curtain on their Serbian border.
Merkel followers in Brussels are shameful, undemocratic traitors for ignoring the majority of Europeans who want to maintain their own civilisation.
If they were Democratic, then they would ask all the EU for their opinion about illegal immigrants from Asia and Africa,
In the future, regardless of which party is in power in Hungary, those international, Soviet-style Marxists in Brussels are unlikely to be supported ever.
Nick – Did you know that EU countries Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria also have border with Serbia? I guess not – that is how bad the basic education has fallen during Fidesz ruling. People do not even know basic geography. But it serves perfectly to Fidesz to get votes from low-educated citizens who have no idea how silly their own opinions are.
You don’t need iron curtains. You need to treat people humanely. Real asylum seekers need protection. Scammer need to be sent back. All this can be done by following EU-laws, just like Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria do.
Fidesz is getting a well-deserved and costly spanking from the EU. They only have themselves to blame.
Hungary should not pay a penny. The verdict supports criminality. There are legal ways to enter the EU and Hungary. It is called a visit to a consulate. Since the EU is breaking the laws, Hungary should tell the EU where to get off. Either all laws are enforced or non.
