EPP President Manfred Weber to visit Budapest for talks with Péter Magyar

On Friday, Manfred Weber, President of the European People’s Party, will arrive in Budapest. He will negotiate with Péter Magyar and the TISZA Party the accession of the seven elected MEPs to the EPP Group.
Manfred Weber to hold talks with Péter Magyar

The new politician, vice-president of Hungary’s most powerful opposition party, informed the public about the development in a Facebook post on Wednesday afternoon.
“The entry of TISZA Party MPs is supported by an overwhelming majority of the People’s Party. The only exception is perhaps the Fidesz-KDNP MEP who currently sits in the People’s Party. György Hölvényi, like a good Fidesz propagandist, is spreading untruths to his colleagues in the group,” Magyar wrote in his post.
According to Telex, the admission is not automatic, but EPP President Manfred Weber told Magyar and his party: the door is open and the EP’s seat counter already counts the Tisza to the EPP. Telex reports that the EPP group would hold its inaugural meeting as early as 18 June.
