PM’s daughter Ráhel Orbán: Budapest represents affordable luxury
According to the Prime Minister’s daughter, Ráhel Orbán, famous Western destinations have become unaffordable, which is why more and more people are looking for and discovering new hidden treasures like Budapest.
The Hungarian capital represents accessible, affordable luxury with a multitude of attractions, from the Danube to the built heritage to the diverse restaurant palette, with its renewing cultural attractions and high-end hotels that you would pay much more for in Paris today, said Ráhel Orbán in Trend FM’s Turizmus.com programme, as reported by Világgazdaság.
During the interview, Orbán also added that the rise in the price of classic Western European destinations could put Budapest’s luxury service providers in a good position, as Ráhel Orbán pointed out the historic potential of the Hungarian capital on the tourism market in the podcast of the professional portal.
Ráhel Orbán thinks the composition of tourists needs to be worked on
“In Budapest, it is no longer the number of tourists that needs to be worked on, but their composition, so that our capital, which is getting better every year, is not just a cheap destination and party venue in the public eye”, Ráhel Orbán said.
Referring to the Dorothea Hotel, designed by BDPST Koncept specifically for the Hungarian market, he said that it is not a luxury hotel. However, it has undoubtedly become the top hotel of the Marriott Autograph Collection brand, and represents affordable, accessible luxury, while in feel, experience and design, it is not behind its competitors. Still, in pricing, it does not reach the level of Western European five-star hotels.
“For a hotel of the same quality and location in Paris today, you have to pay a lot more”, stressed Ráhel Orbán, who believes that Budapest lacks the opportunity for luxury shopping, which includes not only consumption itself but also the shopping experience, window shopping and visiting nice shops. The opportunity would prove to extend the length of stay and generate significant extra revenue for service providers and the country, she stressed.
Orbán was interviewed as Creative Director of BDPST Group. Through BDPST, her husband, István Tiborcz owns hotels that have recently attracted international influencers, such as the Gellért Hotel, the Dorothea Hotel in the city centre and the D8 Hotel, Telex reports.
The interviewee also said that the Dorothea Hotel is not finished yet and that they want to secure the position of both the hotel and its restaurants in the next three years. He also said that the renovation of the Gellért Hotel will start at the end of the summer, and talked about what further projects the BDPST Group has in the works.
We previously reported that she recently discussed tourism in Hungary with a Middle Eastern magazine as well. She expressed her view that Hungary is a diverse, open and multicultural country. She also said that the only thing that is missing is luxury shopping, which is what they are pushing for right now.

Budapest is a nice city but it’s ludicrous to think that it is anywhere near the same league as Paris. Someone who wants to go to Paris will willingly pay the higher cost of a hotel room. They’re not going to Budapest instead of Paris to save a few euros. You do have the party crowd who goes to Budapest . They are not going there for “affordable luxury.” They are going there for affordable beer.
“Barbie Doll” quality of opinions in this article.
Hello, come out into real LIFE and “Smell the Roses”.
The “protected” species that she is, what else through the DNA of her Father, what else other than ABSENCE of Fact(s) – Truth, under FACTUALITY – poor young lady.
Quite Embarrassing, being used a “Prop” for her Father – her Father’s Political Party – Fidesz.
Correction to title.
My apologies.

“3 Million Hungarians live in POVERTY – and this – from Orban”.
He parades his daughter and her laughable “self made” husband, whose wealth is from the pocket of every regular Hungarian. Where is your son, Victor, the one that you hide way in football camps, military camps, shame religion, and now Africa? The one you have betrayed and left a hot mess? Time to come out of the closet Victor. Time to be proud of your son for what he is.
