Key Budapest bridge to see renovation, traffic restrictions planned
The cycle path on a major Budapest bridge will be renovated, the road signs will be refreshed and the road will be resurfaced. The works will be carried out in two phases, during which restrictions are expected.
Margaret Bridge cycle path to be renovated
According to the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK), from 8 July until 31 August, the cycle path on the northern side of the Margaret Bridge (on the side closer to Margaret Island) will be renovated.
During the reconstruction of the cycle path, which shares a common area with the pavement, the damaged surface will be removed and a new covering will be laid. In addition, pavement signs and cyclist pictograms will be repainted.
BKK wrote in the statement that during the renovation, cyclists and pedestrians can temporarily use the cycle lane in the outside traffic lane, or the pavement.

The project will be implemented in two phases: between Monday 8 July and 4 August, the works will take place on the section between the island entrance and the Buda bridgehead, and between 4 and 31 August between the Pest bridgehead and the island entrance.
According to the company, during the works, the outer lane on the Buda side will be closed to car traffic, as a temporary cycle lane and pedestrian section will be created. During this period, only one lane will be available from Pest to Buda.
This may lead to temporary major congestion on Szent István körút and on the Pozsonyi Road slip road in the direction of Margit Bridge.

Our money is again being wasted on “green” B.S. These bicycle tracks will be used by no more than a half a dozen cyclists per hour, just like those in Ulloi ut and Szent Istvan korut. How is this good use of taxpayers’ funds?!?
Meanwhile, on both sidewalks of Petofi hid there form massive puddles of water after every rain, which don’t dry out for days and make it impossible to walk across the bridge unless you get up on the barricade boulders separating the sidewalk from the road, which is an extremely dangerous thing to do.
But yeah, let’s throw money down the drain on ideological pet projects instead. That’s what you get when you elect a globalist-socialist nonentity for mayor. Sigh…

MASSIVE list sent to the District Mayor’s Office – signed by Residents and business operators – calling for – WANTING it put back in it’s HISTORIC Rightful Place.
Failure again of this District V – Mayors Office down, just like request after request – for the RETURN of PUBLIC Seats in the front on the Marriott Hotel on the PUBLIC Land Boulevard – and replace old and battered disgraceful PUBLIC seats in Petofi ter, the regi posta utca end, and the Public Notice / transport board – these are complaints from residents and business operators DIRECTED to the Mayors Office going back (4) four plus years – that have RESULTED in NO action, and seen subjects as detailed in this commentary fall into vile, ugly items, that are a DISGRACE to District v , we the residents and the “image” to Tourists.
Dialogue which is DEMOCRACY – our taxes pay for SUCH public and tourist needs, not the Marriott Group dictating to have NO public seating in front of there Danube location.
The Hermes Statue Fountain, just removed it -that allowed the demolition and re-build on the regi posta / vaci utca of what’s near completion to-day.
Muller – moving from there present vaci utca (2) floor location to this NEW complex, already fitting out the (2) floors they will occupy of this new complex and who-ever else – “other” tenants, are going to move in there, get them to PAY or assist financially – of the Hermes Fountain – return – which would be – or could be replaced in its HISTORIC place, immediately at the Front Door of this new complex.
LISTEN – District V council to WHAT we the residents, the tax payers the businesses – WANT – and Act – perform in OUR interest(s).
